Nail Design of the Week: For Audrey Bling!

So I decided to create a design with China Glaze's For Audrey Polish based on Dearnatural62's Spring Chevron nail tutorial that I found on YouTube. Instead of having a chevron design on my pointer finger I decided to go with a simple white base with black dots of different sizes going across my index finger diagonally. In the middle of my index finger is actually a black rhinestone. I was able to stick the rhinestone on top of the the nail by creating a center dot on the middle of my nail and immediately placing the rhinestone on top on the polish so that it has something to adhere to.
I polished my index, pointer finger and thumb with one coat of For Audrey. I used Kleancolor's metallic silver nail  art lacquer for the base of my entire ring finger and topped it off with OPI's multi sized glitter in Crown Me Already, which is my favvvvv glitter polish. I also Kleacolor's white polish ftor the base of my index finger and used the L.A colors black design polish for the dots on my index finger. To seal in everything I used Brucci's clear nail hardener.

Ipsy Bag : March 2013

I really look forward to my Ipsy bags every month. This month's bag has a nautical blue and white striped design with anchors and rope. The Ipsters received 2 mini eye shadows from Yaby cosmetics which were chosen from 4 shades. The postcard that came in the bag features discounts from the brands that were in this month's bag, but you would have to be a member in order to receive the code.  The bags are very affordable and for $10 a month and you can test out new products that you may have not heard of before at a fraction of the price. Recently, the bags have come with at least 4-5 full size or deluxe size samples of from different brands and so far there wasn't any bags that were a flop to me.

I received a turquoise blue shade that is more so on the greenish blue spectrum of colors and the lighter shade is a very neutral skintone shade that would be perfect for transitioning in between the brow bone. When I first swiped it with my fingers the turquoise shade was very pigmented but then the shadow faded quite a bit once I made the swatch on my hand. When i wiped the eye shadows from my hand with a paper towel  the colors were gone almost immediately which gives me reason to believe they wont have very long staying power.

The Juice Beauty Hydrating mist is organic and it has claims of hydrating and toning the skin. I had a bad experience with Juice Beauty's sunscreen lotion in one of the past Ipsy bags because it left a  noticeable white overcast on my face so I was already hesitant about this product. When I sprayed it on my hand it made my hand feel a little dry and it has a herbally smell that lingers afterwards. I don't particularly care for the smell so I probably wont be using the spray.
The site says that the toner has blends of  "rosehip, ylang ylang, resveratrol grapeseed oil and antioxidant-rich organic juices." This spray holds 1 Fl oz so it is what I would consider a deluxe size sample and it retails at $22 for 6.75 oz.

I did appreciate the La Fresh Travel Lite Makeup remover wipes because the scent reminds of baby powder. This pouch comes with 8 wipes and I love travel size wipes like these because I can throw them in my bag if I am travelling. The only downside it that that wipes did not completely remove all of the makeup of my face, but it did a good job with my eye makeup. I don't mind that it didn't remove all of my makeup though because I wash my face right after I wipe my makeup off so that really isn't a big problem for me. It also didn't dry my skin out like some wipes do and that's a major plus. The wipes are a full size based on La Fresh's website and they retail at $1.49 which is a steal! If I saw them at one of my local drugstore I would definitely purchase these.

My favorite product would have to be the Glam Rx mini Freestyle magnetic palette because it is so cute and functional. I think this palette was designed specifically for Ipsy subscribers because there isn't a link to where you can purchase the product. I like this palette because I finally have a place to put a eye shadow refill that i received from another Ipsy bag a couple of months ago.  With the 3 shadows in the palette I can probably fit one more large eye shadow and  possibly another mini. Maybe I can go to Mac and pick up woodwinked. I have been dying to get my hands on that one for a while!

If you want to become a member of the Ipsy community it's free, you have to subscribe if you want to recieve the bags. Here is the link www.Ipsy.com

Nails of the Week: Essie Van D'Go

Essie's Van D' Go is a very pretty peachy pink shade and I think this will be my go to polish for the spring! The shade is very suitable for medium to Tan skin tones and I know the color will pop even more once I start to Tan a bit. In the bootle the polish looks like a light pink shade but once applied and dried the polish turns into a deeper more rich shade of pink. The polish applies very creamy and with 1 coat the polish is somewhat transparent so I opted for 2. Oo and please excuse my sloppy paint job.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Review

I'm a little late to jump on the lip stain bandwagon, but I wouldn't call this one a stain. The Balm has a minty scent that I do enjoy because it is not overpowering and it wears off within a couple of minutes of applying. The balm sort of glides on your lips and it is very moisturizing as you first apply it, but you may have to reapply during the day if you want more moisture. I would not describe the product as buildable, but it does leave a slight tint on your lips after the product is removed. The packaging is really cute and I do like the fact that it looks like a retractable jumbo crayon! Takes me back to the good ol' days back when I used to love going to my art class. yay for Kindergarten ! Oh! and another good thing about this product is that you could probably apply this in the dark if you wanted to. I purchased mine today at my local Rite Aid store because they were having a sale on Revlon's lip products. The sale price was $6.99 but it normally retails for $8.99.

Revlon  Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish Devotion

Lip Balm in natural lighting

This shade is somewhat of a strawberry color and it does leave a bit of shine on your lips which is awesome.
Revlon describes it as ".. a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood." Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is an okay product, but it's not something that I would repurchase. I would give it 3 stars. Comment down below and tell me if you loved or hated the Revlon Balm stain! =]]

Nails of the Week: China Glaze For Audrey

Spring is approaching very soon and what better way to get out of a winter rut than by wearing bright nail polish! For Audrey is a greenish blue shade that is perfect for the spring and summer.  The shade is very similar to a Tiffany's box, which is what I'm sure they were going for. The color in the photo is very accurate to how the polish actually looks in person. The  formulation of polish is pretty Opaque as well and you could get away with one coat if you are in a rush, but I used two. I love how well the polish goes on and it starts to dry rather quickly as well. Ain't nobody got time to wait for polish to dry!

Purchased on Amazon for $4.85 (awesome price!)
What are you wearing on your nails this week? I'd love to know!

Welcome to my blog!!

Hello Beauty bloggers! My name is Kesi Clarke, and I am a Junior studying journalism at Rutgers University. I love all things fashion and beauty and I am on the verge of becoming a makeup hoarder. After high school I  became very interested in makeup and I was fascinated by the techniques that some makeup artists use. Since then I have always enjoyed testing out different products to see what works best for my skin type, or my hair type.
On my blog i will be reviewing different products like makeup, hair products, skin care products and I will also try to post tutorials for different makeup looks.

I’ve always been the type of person to be subscribed to magazines like SeventeenPeople,  Glamour, or Cosmopolitan to keep up with the latest trends and to also learn how to look cute without spending all the extra$$$ to do it. From these magazines I am inspired to create my own looks, whether its fashion or makeup and they usually suggest really good tips and tricks or products. YouTube is also another media source in which I have learned a lot from in the past two years. I am subscribed to the top beauty gurus on YouTube who share insight into their lives and how they express themselves through fashion and makeup. Some of my favorite YouTube beauty gurus are MissJessicaharlow, tymetheinfamous, Michelle Fawn, Andreaschoice, Dulcecandy87 and a whole bunch more.  I have learned a lot from watching their videos and I check my subscription box on Youtube throughout the day, everyday. I even have a couple of videos  on my own channel on YouTube because beauty and fashion are things that I am most passionate about. I plan to share some of the things that I have learned with my readers so that we can step into the world with our best
foot  shoe forward and enough confidence to brighten up the room. Sharing is caring!
